There is a passenger ferry taking tourists over the estuary to the sandy beaches of Instow and the river is a popular spot for dingy boats, yachts, and gig racing which I wanted to portray in my picture. I also wanted to add the trademark Hocking's ice cream van which is indeed iconic to Appledore along with some bunting to mark the annual Appledore Book Festival, which is a huge event for the village and takes place at the end of September.\u003c\/em\u003e\"\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe Becky Bettesworth Appledore print was the official artwork for the Book Festival 2017.
